This is the only NEXTSTEP solution providing support for both Audio and MIDI features on one Intel adaptor board. Compatibility with the currently shipping MusicKit MidiDriver enables Intel machines running NEXTSTEP to allocate a single ISA or EISA slot to the combined functions of Audio and MIDI. The Soundscape is the only shipping hardware solution which meets or exceeds the quality of the Microsoft Windows Sound System card that is no longer being produced, an important factor for performance under NEXTSTEP.
